California rocker Johnny Lima delivered his finest record to date in 2014. If you know Johnny’s music then you know what a statement that is as every single one of his albums have been outstanding.
Consistantly outdoing his previous album with the next, he has simply gotten better and better each time around, releasing superb records time and again with nothing less than perfection each time around.
As well as being his best, this is easily his heaviest record to date. Combining blazing guitars with keys, effects, drums and the always outstanding vocals, he deftly delivers a perfect set of songs yet again and proves he still has much to give the music world.
The man is just a pool of talent. Playing basically every instrument on the record, writing all of his material and recording it himself, he is a true artist, and a super nice guy to boot. Most of us can only dream of possessing so much talent.
Full of the same catchy as hell melodies we already know and love from him, the album is a shining example of how to write a record. It has it all. Songs like the hard rocking ‘My Revolution’, the sleazy, tongue in cheek ‘Fill You Up’, the pure melodic rock greatness of ‘Blame It On Love’ and one of the absolute best ballads, if not the best, he has done yet, the beautiful ‘I Can’t Love You Anymore’, are all 100% Lima all the way and are just prime examples of what this guy is able to deliver time and time again.
One of the most criminally unknown artists in melodic rock, period. If you have never heard him then you are missing out on one of melodic rocks greatest. A superior artist, an excellent voice, phenomenal music and just an all around awesome record make this one of 2014’s top 5 albums for me personally.
The highest of recommendations. Check out Johnny’s music, buy it, listen to it, support this superb artist and get some damn fine music in the process.
